The buildingSMART Virtual Summit Write-Up
The end of March saw the conclusion of the 3rd edition of The buildingSMART Virtual Summit for Spring 2021. The summit delivered on the theme of 'Building Asset Sustainability by Accelerating Open Digital Workflows' over a two week period. Below you will find a link to the full event write up as well as a statistical overview.
It is also not too late to provide your feedback through the post-event survey. The results from the survey will soon be analyzed to see what worked well and where we could look to improve moving forward. The survey should only take 3 minutes of your time and we welcome all constructive feedback - good or bad!
For now, all sessions are available to everyone who purchased a summit pass as on-demand material within the event platform. The recordings will be made publicly in just a few weeks' time, via the 'Events' tab on the buildingSMART homepage.

New Logo Map and Brand Guidelines
You may have heard or even noticed by now that buildingSMART International has a new look and feel. Our brand is more than just a logo - it is how we connect and engage with the world around us. Our brand sums up everything that we stand for: innovation, collaboration, trust, relevance, neutrality, responsive and openness. These guidelines provide a framework for consistent application of our visual elements.
There are new colour options and a new set of logos or icons that describe the growing demand of what we do. This fresh approach to how we look and feel is designed to support such growth.
We are very happy to share that buildingSMART Norway have already embraced and adopted the new look and feel in the re-design of their website: www.buildingsmart.no
The team at buildingSMART Norway have also started the process of adapting their presentations using the new slide deck templates. We would like to encourage all chapters to follow suit and if you require any support please contact Aidan Mercer.
UCM Service launch
The Use Case Management Service (UCM) is now launched which allows all stakeholders to collaboratively develop their projects in a co-creation space and subsequently publish them on the UCM website. This is a great leap forward to be able to really focus on the areas that will most benefit from digital transformation. With immediate effect all the buildingSMART International Program Rooms and their projects are able to access to input specific exchange requirements and of course search for existing use cases to help with new Activity Proposals.
The UCM Service will also allow the Room Steering Committees to review user requirements to inform the Room roadmap plans. buildingSMART Chapters and third party enterprises are also able to obtain a tenancy on the system.
Please visit the UCMS website for full information and details of how to get started
Tiina Perttula and Philip Jackson are re-elected. New appointees are Jurgen Litsch, Roland Moser, Anna Neidenström, Marion Schenkwein and Marek Suchocki and they are going to bring a completely fresh perspective to the team.
We thank all 12 candidates that put themselves forward for election and for those that were not elected this time, they are still very welcome to participate in the Room activities or indeed any of our other domains.
The full Infra Room Steering Committee now consists of:
Philip Jackson UK & Ireland Chapter
JĂĽrgen Litsch Strabag AG
Tristan McDonnell Arup
Roland Moser Swiss Federal Railway
Anna Neidenström Trafikverket
Tiina Perttula Finland Chapter
Jim Plume Australasia Chapter

We extend a big thank-you to Ronald Bergs and Benno Koehorst who step down

The Room Steering Committees are the executive body that set the long term plan for the domain because they are from the industry and understand the challenges that can be solved with digital ways of working. They own the long term Roadmap and they oversee the projects that deliver against that Roadmap.
Our very best wishes for this team and we’re looking forward to working with you on the delivery of new openBIM standards.
