No buildingSMART membership is required. It will be moderated by buildingSMART community experts from all over the world. This will replace the various LinkedIn buildingSMART Groups and any other non-bSI communication outlets.       Chapter News: The UK BIM Alliance (buildingSMART UK & Ireland) has written a report titled Going Digital. This is a guide for construction, clients, building owners and their advisers. It discusses the benefits of BIM, the growing challenges in the industry and the need for better information. Chapter News: An Memorandum of Understanding between buildingSMART International and the Austrian, French, German and Swiss Chapters was signed at the BIM Kongress event in Basel in November 2018. This agreement was signed to develop a strategy for "Use Case Management". You can read the report from the German Chapter here. Blog: McKinsey's GII Summit in London Richard Petrie, Chief Executive, buildingSMART International, attended and has written a blog about the Global Infrastructure Initiative (GII) from McKinsey which took place in London, October 2018. See how international standards were addressed here.  Membership Update buildingSMART International is delighted to announce that China Railway BIM Alliance (CRBIM) has joined as a strategic member of buildingSMART International. This is exciting news and we look forward to their continued support and commitment to delivering international standards for the rail industry. In the News: UniversalTypesTM – Construction Products at Your Fingertips bSI and ProMaterial, announce the launch of an initiative to further develop the UniversalTypes language. UniversalTypes are designed to enable real-time sales of construction products and materials.
