Welcome to the buildingSMART International Newsletter for June 2019. This edition covers a wide range of topics, including a Railway Room update, video availability from the International Standards Summit in Dusseldorf, a variety of webinars and lots of community news. "IFC Rail"
The International Standard Progress Report
In 2018, buildingSMART International supported the proposal and initiation of the single largest project in its history. The “IFC Rail” project was initiated at the buildingSMART International Standards Summit in Paris, April 2018 with a signed agreement across all contributing parties. In March 2019, the team successfully presented the progress at the bSI Standards Summit in Düsseldorf. At the summit, the team presented the first showing for the conceptual model of the track. bSI Chairman Patrick MacLeamy commented, "This is the most spectacular project we currently have in buildingSMART." IFC Road Expert Panel Webinar Review
The IFC Road Expert Panel Conceptual Model webinar took place on May 31st 2019. buildingSMART International is pleased to share very strong attendee numbers and high level of engagement. The project itself is moving into the draft conceptual model phase with a variety of work packages being developed. The industry is engaging in developing this standard which will provide huge value to assets pertaining to road infrastructure.

Event: Digital Supply Chains for the Built Environment
buildingSMART is working with GS1 on an event on the 12th June that was previously called "Building Digital Marketplaces". This is targeted at product manufacturers and has limited space. You can find more on this page.
