Bricsys® Achieves buildingSMART Certification for BricsCAD®’s IFC 4
Bricsys®, a part of Hexagon, has achieved IFC 4 Architectural Reference Exchange Export Certification from buildingSMART International (bSI). This certification highlights Bricsys’ commitment to open and interoperable solutions for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. It confirms that BricsCAD® meets bSI’s strict export criteria for the IFC standard, ensuring reliable data exchange and collaboration.
Graphisoft hosted the General Assembly of Implementers meeting in Budapest, bringing together over 40 industry leaders from 19 countries. A key highlight was the IFC 5 hackathon, where participants focused on critical areas such as workflows, properties, materials, alignment, and georeferencing. Through collaboration, they achieved significant milestones, including defining IFC 5’s principles and scope, first demonstrations of IFC 5 data shared between multiple software tools, and establishing a six-month development roadmap to drive further progress.
Transforming Infrastructure: The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency Roadmap to a Digital Twin Ecosystem
Authors: Aidan Mercer, Marketing Director Bart Brink, Chair of the Digital Twin Working Group
The blog post "Transforming Infrastructure: The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency Roadmap to a Digital Twin Ecosystem" discusses the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency's (FTIA) strategic plan to develop a comprehensive digital twin ecosystem. This initiative aims to enhance infrastructure management by leveraging digital twins—virtual representations of physical assets—to improve decision-making, maintenance, and operational efficiency. It highlights the potential of digital twin ecosystems to create value for society and the environment.
Do you work on Railway Station Projects? If so, buildingSMART International and the Railway Domain want to hear from you. We are running a short survey to address key challenges in railway station projects. Our goal is to standardize railway station information through cross-domain collaboration, tackling issues like information silos and asset management complexities.
This survey is designed to gather insights into the unique characteristics and data exchange needs of railway station projects. It also explores the application of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and the buildingSMART Data Dictionary (bSDD) in these projects.
Your input is invaluable to our research and will help shape the future of the railway industry.
