International Council, Chapter Conference and Asia Summit 2024
The buildingSMART International Council and Chapter Conference, along with the inaugural Asia Summit, took place in Hong Kong from June 17-21, 2024. Key highlights included updates on governance, financials, strategic projects, and the appointment of new board members.
The Asia Summit focused on accelerating openBIM adoption for smart cities and sustainability, featuring keynotes, panels, and discussions on topics like IFC and smart city integration, and celebrated local projects' best practices.
At the International Council in Hong Kong, China, three new Board members were appointed. Eduard Dischke, Najib Adouane, and David Whittleton were approved as new Board members by the council, with Jugal Makwana being appointed as Vice Chair.
bSI would like to thank departing Board members Rasso Steinmann, Frank Hovorka, Anna Moreno, and Alar Jost for their service.
