A little about me:
Before finding myself working for buildingSMART, I spent many years working in events and the hospitality industry. Prior to that, I spent almost a decade travelling and working overseas, living in Vietnam, Denmark, Thailand, and Australia for over a year each.
I returned to the UK in 2015 and have been settled there since, with my wife whom I met in Thailand, and 2 young daughters (2 and 4 years old).
I still like to travel and visit new places when an opportunity arises, taking in the cultures and food of the world. In my free time, I regularly play football, tennis, and golf, and try to get out on my motorbike when I can (which has been increasingly less frequent in recent years)!

The Product Domain Steering Committee (PDSC) is holding an Industry Forum for the bSI community on Wednesday 22nd November 2023. This is an opportunity for you to hear from the PDSC on their plans for the development of the PD Roadmap and opportunities for you to participate in working groups and project teams for specific activities.
The PD Roadmap and the activity proposals, whitepapers, and projects in development were presented by Michel Bohren and the PDSC team at the bSI Summit in Lillestrøm in September 2023. Chapter representatives who have an interest in Products and product manufacturing were invited to a summit session to hear how they could become active in the work of the PDSC. This industry forum is an opportunity for them and others to provide feedback, and to follow up on the invitation to participate that was extended in Lillestrøm.
So, if you want to hear about these exciting plans or, better still, participate in some of them, please join the PDSC on the 22nd November to hear more. You can register your interest and obtain the Industry Forum call details using the link below.
The Infrastructure Domain (ID) Roadmap is the result of a process that sought global input through a series of Chapter Workshops from around the world, each run independently with its own agenda and approach to the task, but all with the same aim of identifying activities that participants believed should form the priorities for the Infrastructure Domain over the next five years.
At the heart of this Roadmap is a commitment to consolidate the work undertaken up to this point in the development of the infrastructure extensions for IFC. In doing so, there may be a need to undertake further schema development, but the overriding focus will be on collaborating with other Domains and standards organisations, as well as software vendors, to ensure we have high-quality implementations of IFC for infrastructure.
Membership of bSI is a great way to get active in buildingSMART. A wide range of benefits includes active participation in Domains, webinars, voting, and much more!
